LS9 Twin Plate Clutch
Slave Cylinder Friction Plates Flywheel Pressure Plate Install
Install
These little clips that
retain pins holding the gear lever assy to
gearbox were a little tricky to
remove, certainly designed not to
come loose by accident !
Pretty standard job to be honest. I did buy a steel twin plate clutch alignment
tool, invaluable! Remove
exhaust centre from cats to rear boxes, disconnect prop,
remove heat shield to
make access a little easier, disconnect a few loom plugs.
Gearbox will tilt back
slightly when cross member is taken off. Gearbox is unbolted
from the bell housing, then
when out of the way, the bell housing can come off.
this took a little time as
one of the alignment dowls was very tight, lots of
wiggling the
housing to get it free ! The
stock hydraulic pipe needs to be swapped to the new ls9
slave cylinder, and the pipe
bent slightly to fit.
Std slave setup.
LS9 slave, good time to
fit the remote bleed hose, and you can see the bend in the pipe
to exit the gearbox
aperture in the same place.
Flywheel bolted up, bolts, 20 then 50 then 100 nm
Notice the proper bearing for gearbox spigot !
Clutch cover bolts, 70nm
