- GT25R dry fit
- Following pictures are of the turbo's on
manifolds offered up to Paul Mitchell's lotus for fitment
- check. Looking very good so far.
-
- Plenty of room for the rear turbo exhaust down
pipe to come out horizontally and drop down.
-
- Rear turbos has sufficient clearance from the
inner wing pipework to still allow fitment of the heat shields.
-
- Front turbo was the concern, but having fitted
it there is still plenty of clearance from the coolant valve and room
- for the heat sheild.
-
-
-
- Rear turbo compressor outlet is a minor
concern, with the charge cooler in place it was already resting on the
- turbo flange, alignment needs adjustment by
turning the housing, apart from that its not too bad. The compressor
- outlet still needs a bolt on adaptor to accept
the round rubber connecting tube, it's going to have to be quite short.
- I don't think this will be too difficult to
sort out. Worst case is that the charge cooler inlet pipe may need
shortening
- very slightly.
-
-
- Front turbo compressor outlet has no
alignment problems (once I've turned the housing some more)
-
-
-
- Approx position for the rear turbo wastegate
actuator. The front actuator will be underneath the turbo
- where there is plenty of room, initially
concerned about the engine mount bracket fouling, this is not a problem.
After some extensive cylinder head re-work, a dry
fit on my LC at last !
With the charge cooler in place, as already seen
with Paul's LC, the rear connection to the compressor housing is
not aligned very well, I'll not be able to use
the outlet adaptor that I'd bought. Front turbo is fine.
- Adaptor removed, a fabricated angled tube made
from stainless steel will fit a lot better. Just need to get the mount
- flange made. I want to maintain at least 8mm
gap between the outlet tube of the turbo and in the inlet tube of the
- charge cooler to allow for heat expansion and
vibration clearance.
