GT25R  Fixing to rig and clocking the housings

Whilst waiting for spare exhaust manifolds I made a pair of adaptor plate so that I could mount the turbo's
as they would be positioned on the car. This give me best chance of sorting most of the alignment problems up front.

The compressor housing is secured to the bearing housing by means of a large circlip which has tapered edges

which seat into a groove and pull the 2 housings together. The turbine housing is secured using bolts x6 and

half moon clamp rings x2. By simply loosening the bolts or squeezing in the circlip, both housings are free to

rotate around the bearing housing. Since the position of the compressor housing is pre-defined by the angle of the

exhaust flange, the easiest way of achieving the correct positioning (clocking) is to bolt the turbo securely to the

manifold flange first.

The standard position and mount bracket for the gtr25r waste gate actuators will not work, it has to be re-made and

re-positioned. I don't know what pressure the actuators open at, this something to be investigate later.

So far I'm quite pleased, a quick check of how far the gt25r's extend from the manifolds is very promising compared

to the standard lc turbos. I will make some actual measurements and bolt up the std lc
