- Re-assembly
-
- Assembly was quite difficult, there are 5
studs per exhaust downpipe to turbine outlet instead
- of just 3 for std turbos, some of these were
very difficult to access. The rear turbo actuator rod
- is extremely difficult to get to. I will have
problems if I need to adjust these ;-)
I'd already preset the actuators on the
bench
- Also the same actuator rod is within 3mm of
the oil drain, the oil drain in turn within 3mm of the front turbo
- downpipe. I've secured some exhaust wrap on
the drain to protect it.
-
- So, can you spot anything missing in the
picture below, ie something very small that I should have fitted
- before I installed the down pipes ? :-)

- I still need to install some heat protection
for the rear turbo waste gate actuator as this sits just above
- the front exhaust turbine housing.
- Before fitting the front exhaust manifold to
head, I installed a adaptor to take a thermocouple probe,
- I want to monitor the exhaust gas temperature,
this will help decide if the fueling is right, high gas
- temperatures would indicate mixture is too
lean. Just need to make a securing bracket and attach to one
- of the thermostat housing, a wire up to a
display unit Will Reeve is making me :-)
- Also I had to run another wire from the aldl
socket into the glove box which will connect into my pda,
- Malcolm Robb has written and developed
software which runs on a pda device which will datalog
- and much more !!
