Turbo Oil Drain

Oil from the turbo's drain straight into the sump. There was a thought that the oil level

in the sump was higher than the drain entry points. 

With oil level checked on the dipstick at just 1.5 mm over max mark, I removed the lower

drain, no oil poured out, so the level has to be below this point.

 

 

 

 

 

While the drain was off I installed a blanking plate in its place so that I could run the engine

(hot idle) and see how the oil flowed from the pipe.

 

 

 

 

I measured how much came out in 1 minute, 0.35 ltr, so based on 3.785ltr per US gal, this works out as 0.092 gal/min, apparently 0.1 gal/min is about right.
